Members of a project

Members of the project

In this tab, you can decide which members have access to your project. To add members, you have three options:

  • “Member Name” field (1): simply type the name of the person you want to add. The person will appear in the list only if they already have an account on your Tuleap platform.

  • “Import Members” button (2): upload a text file containing the usernames and/or email addresses of members who are already registered on your Tuleap platform (and have an active account) that you want to add to the project. This is perfect if you need to add the same list of people each time you create new projects, for example.

  • “Invite” button (3): using this button, you can add external members to your Tuleap platform directly via their email addresses. You can also include a personal invitation message.

Choose from the project list the one to which you would like to add them.

Project Groups

You can create groups within your project to manage permissions by granting access to specific files, folders, trackers, etc., only to certain members of your project.

By default, your project includes an administrators group, meaning members who have access to all project configuration features as well as all associated information and documents.

By clicking the “Add users group” button, a window opens allowing you to name the group, add a description, and choose how to create it:

  • Empty group: creates a group without adding any members to it.

  • Project members: creates a group that automatically includes all project members.

  • Project administrators: creates a group that includes only the project administrators.

Once your group is created, Tuleap opens a configuration page so you can customize it.

  • Blue box: shows the group details, where you can rename it and change its description.

  • Purple box: allows you to manage the group’s permissions. What can its members see in the project (documents, files, trackers, etc.)? What actions can they perform and where (edit, delete, read-only access, etc.)?

  • Yellow box: allows you to link this group to an existing group, even from another project.

  • Green box: displays the list of group members (empty in this example).

Deleting a group

Go to your list of groups and click “Delete” at the end of the corresponding row.

The group will be permanently deleted along with all its settings, but the group members will remain members of the project.
