Create a Tuleap project
Launching a new project in Tuleap is a simple and quick process. In just a few clicks, you will have a ready-to-use workspace for you and your teams.
Creating a Tuleap project is done in a few steps:
Click on the “New” button at the top of the page, then on “Start a new project”.
Select the project template you want to use: this will determine the services activated by default on your project as well as the basic configuration of your project.
Configure the essential information for your project: project name, visibility level, and description.
Finally, complete the creation of your project by clicking the “Create my project” button.
Templates & services
Each Tuleap project is an assembly of “services”, which correspond to the tools you want to integrate: source code management (Git), activity tracking (trackers), Kanban boards, document management, etc.
To facilitate the configuration of your project and associated services, Tuleap offers ready-to-use project templates, each designed for a specific use case to save you time.
Here are several options available:
Agile Enterprise Planning - Full ALM: the most complete project workspace to plan, build and ship quality products. Include Tuleap Test Management, Time Tracking and Cross-Tracker Search. Reach end-to-end traceability.
Scrum: collect stories, plan releases, monitor sprints with a ready-to-use Scrum area.
Kanban: streamline your workflow and focus on what's hot with an easy-to-use board.
Issue tracking: trace and Track all types of activities.
Portfolio SAFe®: manage sets of applications and products into a portfolio to align strategy to execution. This template has to be used with the 2 Essential SAFe® templates.
Essential SAFe® - Agile Release Train: align several teams to a shared mission applying the principles of the Essential SAFe®. Manage Agile Release Train, Program Increments and Roadmap. This template has to be used with the Tuleap template "Essential SAFe® - Scrum Team".
Essential SAFe® - Scrum Team: helps cross-functional teams to deliver an increment of value based on Scrum approach. This template has to be used with the Tuleap template "Essential SAFe® - Agile Release Train".
Practical Info
Additional project templates and associated categories can be created and made available to users. These elements are administrable from the administration interface of your Tuleap instance.
Choosing the right template at the beginning is a great way to quickly start your project, but don't forget that all aspects of your project remain fully customizable afterward.
Indeed, your project may need to evolve: you could start with simple ticket tracking and later decide to activate the Kanban service for more visual management, or add a Git repository when development begins. Service administration allows you to activate, deactivate, and configure these tools to precisely match your team's needs, and thus adapt your project as your needs change, without having to start over.
