Configure projects

Prev Next

The "Project Setup" menu gives you access to six different tabs.

Moderating project creation

This tab allows you to control the creation of projects on the instance.
This is where you define whether a user's creation of a project should be subject to validation by an instance administrator.

Settings for project creation moderation, including approval and validation limits.

You can also determine:

  1. The maximum number of projects awaiting approval.

  2. The maximum number of projects a user can have simultaneously awaiting approval.

To avoid setting a limit, simply highlight "-1".

Pending projects

Project management interface showing pending projects and search functionality.

This is where you can find all the projects that have been created and submitted to the administrators for approval.

Project Templates

You can access your project templates here. These templates can be used when creating a new project to facilitate the automatic implementation of a project according to your exact needs.

Project templates section displaying project name, Unix name, and visibility settings.

These templates are defined in the "All projects" tab and by going to the details of the project you want to set as the template.

Project details form showing Unix group name, status, and template selection options.

It will then be added to the list of models.

Les Webhooks

In this tab, you can configure webhooks that are automatically invoked when committing a new project.

As a reminder, a webhook allows you to send a notification to an external URL when a project is created and validated on the instance.

Here you can add a new webhook, see the list of webhooks that have already been configured, and check the last push date and status.

Webhook settings interface showing project creation details and input fields for name and URL.

Custom Fields

In this tab, you can create custom fields that will be displayed when a new project is created.

You can also define whether or not this field is required and its rank of appearance on the screen.

Project fields section with options to add fields and descriptions for project details.

Public Project Categories

On this tab, you can create and manage the public project categories available on the instance.

These categories allow you to classify public projects according to different criteria, for example their license, their theme or any other element useful to your organization. They can be organized hierarchically, with parent categories and subcategories.

When adding a category, you must fill in a full name, a short name, optionally choose a parent category, and add a description. You can also define whether the category is required, and whether it should be displayed when creating a project.

Public project categories with options to add, edit, or delete project details.

Project visibility

This tab allows you to define the rights and actions that affect project visibility.

You can define whether project administrators are allowed to choose the visibility of their project themselves. If this option is disabled, it provides greater control over the privacy of projects and prevents a project containing sensitive information from being made visible by mistake.

You can also choose to automatically send an email to project members when its visibility changes.

Finally, you can set the default visibility applied when creating a new project (public or private).

Settings for project visibility and email notifications for changes in visibility.

Widgets

Here you can disable widgets that you don't want to appear in the instance's project dashboards.
