Baselines

Prev Next

The "Baseline" feature allows you to create a snapshot of the content of the milestones in Backlog and compare them. In particular, it allows to:

  • Capture the status of a milestone at a given point in time.

  • Identify changes that have occurred between two milestones.

Create a Baseline

It is possible to create a Baseline from a top-level milestone in the Backlog (most often its Releases). The user who creates a Baseline must first give it a name.

By default, the baseline is created as of the day of creation, but it is also possible to set an earlier date. This can be useful if you forgot to create it at the time.

What does a baseline contain?

  • The title (according to semantics)

  • Description (according to semantics)

  • Status (according to semantics)

  • Child elements (linked artifacts)

Compare two Baselines

When there are at least two baselines for a milestone, it is possible to compare them.

It is also possible to save the comparison for future reference.

Permissions

From the Baselines administration, it is possible to manage the permissions of the user groups that can administer the Baselines, in addition to the project administrators, as well as the user groups that can only read the baselines and comparisons.
